Anne T. Case CLC Students & Families,

We are all very excited that some students will soon be returning to the building.  While akronschools.com is where you can always find the most up-to-date information about reopening, we would at least like to reshare the dates with you.  Monday, March 8th, students in KG, 1st, 2nd, MD, and Achieve classrooms will move to the model selected (face-to-face or remote) on the district’s family survey.  On Monday, March 15th, students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will follow.  The district and staff at Case will do everything possible to communicate details as they are finalized.  For families that would like to change the model their students are receiving their learning from, the district will set up a digital way to do that prior to Spring Break.

While the changes on March 8th and 15th will cause adjustments to all students’ routines, it will have the greatest impact on those students returning to the buildings. Some things we would like to suggest to families so they can help their students be as successful as possible are:

  • Get into a routine of an appropriate bedtime so students can be awake earlier

  • Have students practice going long periods of time with their mask on

  • Start a routine to charge the Chromebook every night, so it will have energy at the building the next day

Prior to the changes coming, we will still continue to go about the business of offering students and families an educational experience that meets the standards of both the district and International Baccalaureate.  One way we will continue to communicate with families is through our weekly all calls.  Teachers will still keep their office hours leading up to the model changes, and this Thursday (2/25/21) we are still hosting virtual parent-teacher interim conferences.  While you may have a conference scheduled with your student’s homeroom teacher, please do not hesitate asking the homeroom teacher to put you in touch with any of the rest of our staff, including our special subject staff and gifted intervention specialist.  As always, we will also have an office meet to assist putting you in contact with whoever you may need access to; that office meet link is  https://meet.google.com/cvp-nziu-uts.

Also, while a date is not finalized, we are looking to host a drive through Math Night sometime in late March or early April.  The event will be similar to our drive through Reading Night that ended up connecting 158 students with materials.  In addition to some math games and resources, families will also be receive a toy and a meal to take home.

Thank you as always for your support of all members of the Anne T Case CLC community!

 Sincerely,

Matthew Doslak Grace Tome
