Case CLC Families,
As we are halfway through the first marking period, we wanted to give you a number of updates and reminders along with your student’s Interim Progress Report. First, thank you for continuing to make sure that your child, our students, our staff, and our community are safe for having your student bring and wear a mask to school each day. Second, while we publish interim progress reports and report cards every 4-5 weeks, please remember that you always have access to your student’s progress. In grades 2-5 you can view “real time” grades through Home Access Center; for grades K-1, you can always check on your student’s progress by reaching out to his/her teacher. Third, please continue to stay up to date with what is going on at Anne T Case and your student’s classroom through any/all the following ways:
-
Case’s website (https://case.akronschools.com/)
-
Case’s PTA’s Facebook page (search Anne T Case CLC)
-
Our Weekly all calls (if you do not receive them Sunday afternoons, please update your phone number through Home Access)
-
Class/Teacher Newsletters and Google Classrooms
By this time, you have already been able to look at and review your child’s progress report. If you have any questions about the marks/grades your child is receiving, please talk first to your child, then reach out to their teacher. While your student’s teacher will be the best resource for understanding how your student earned their grades, we would like to remind you that a large part of not just their grades but also their learning is their attendance. As a reminder, our doors open at 7:55am, and breakfast is served through 8:15; 8:15 is also the time all students also begin going to their classrooms to prepare for the school day. All students should be in the building by 8:25 to ensure they have time to get to their class and settled in without being in danger of being marked tardy and missing instruction which starts promptly at 8:30.
To end our monthly letter, we would like to give you a preview of things to come at Case. The first quarter closes October 22, and we will be posting/mailing report cards by the start of November. Also, towards the beginning of November, Case will be hosting a Family Fall Festival; this event will provide families support in math while offering fun games, activities, and gifts for everyone who attends! Finally, to better assist the Case staff in planning other events for our families, please make sure that you complete the short Family Involvement Survey that was offered on paper for families at interims or shared by teachers electronically.
Thank you,
Mr. Doslak, Principal Ms. Tome, Dean of Students
