Anne T. Case CLC Students & Families,

We are now well into the second half of the year.  As our students continue to learn and explore new standards and ideas, they are also being taught skills that will best prepare them for next year, whether they are continuing their education at Case or moving on to Litchfield, Miller South, NIHF STEM, or another institution.  You can continue to support your student by:

  • Asking your student about their IB units

  • Checking with your student about what they have earned PBIS points for

  • Supporting your student’s learning by promoting study skills (ex: reading, HW, & iReady)

  • Keeping your student on a schedule that provides enough sleep and has them at school on time everyday

To help you better plan, here are some upcoming dates:

  • February 17 No School - Teacher Workday

  • February 20 No School - Presidents Day

  • March 3 No School - Instructional Improvement Day

  • March 9 Spring Pictures (only for students ordering/buying pictures)

  • March 13 Family Reading Night with Ty Allan Jackson (https://tyallanjackson.com/)

  • March 20-24 Spirit Week

  • March 27 1st Day of Ohio State Tests

  • April 7-14 No School - Spring Break

  • TBD Book Fair (PTA)

As we mentioned in our last letter to families and you can see above, our 3rd through 5th graders take their Ohio State Tests in just over one month.  Students in those grades will be taking OSTs in Reading and Math; 5th graders also take a Science OST.  There are specific windows (dates) that we are permitted to give the tests.  The following tips/tricks can continue to benefit all students but are especially important to keep in mind for students taking OSTs:

  • Keep a reasonable bedtime, and go to sleep without devices; pediatricians says students 5-12 years old should get around 10 hours of sleep a night

  • Have a healthy (not greasy) breakfast; the school offers this as long as students are here by 8:10am

  • Remind students it is ok to not know everything, but they should always be principled and try their best

  • Make sure students have a charged chromebook everyday

  • Find other routines that work for you and your child (ex: showers at night and/or in the morning)

Thank you for continuing to support your child and our school community!

 Sincerely,

Mr. Doslak Dr. Person
