Welcome Back!

Welcome Back, Everyone

Anne T Case CLC Families,

It was wonderful seeing all of our learners in the building this week.  For those of our families who have been with us in the past, you know the best way to stay up to date on events occurring at the building is to listen to our weekly all call; they are usually sent out on Sunday afternoons. With this being our first week back, we wanted to send out some reminders from previous letters, all calls, and open house to make sure that our year is a great one!

Drop off & Pick up

Student safety is always at the forefront of our thoughts and decisions. With that in mind we will continue to refine our pick up and drop off procedures.  All students are to be dropped off and picked up in/through our parking lots (front or rear).  As there are no crosswalks by doors 3 & 4, we will not be having students dropped off at the “breakfast” doors. The crosswalks leading to and from Case CLC are found at the four corners of our block. While we know that the parade of cars through the parking lot can take time, we know that you will support us in doing everything we can to keep our students safe! Our breakfast doors open at 7:50. Students need to be in the building by 8:10 to ensure they have enough time to enjoy a free breakfast, and students arriving after 8:25 are in danger of being tardy.  Students that do not ride APS buses will be dismissed at 2:30, and will wait in front of the building with their classes.  All students are expected to be picked up by 2:45, and all cars turning into our “pick up parade” need to be doing so by making a right hand turn into the parking lot.

Dress Code

As a reminder the uniform policy has been suspended for the 2022-23 school year by the Akron Board of Education; below are a number of reminders about the district and school dress code:

  • As a general rule, all garments must be neat, clean, properly sized, without holes and rips and in acceptable repair. Students may not wear anything that promotes gangs, tobacco, drug and alcohol use, sexual activity or anything illegal or immoral.

  • Shoes: All footwear must be secure on the foot with a fully covered heel and toe and not present a safety hazard. Slippers, flip-flops, stilettos and shower shoes are not permitted. For safety on stairways, in the gym, and on the playground, students are not to wear “croc-like” footwear.

Visitor / Guardian Identification

Again, our students’ safety comes first.  Any visitor in the building during the day or adult picking up a student will need to provide a picture ID in the main office.  If someone is picking up a student who is not the legal guardian, the child’s legal guardian must let the office know directly.

Thank you for helping all of us succeed!!!
